I thought this show was going to be a total lost as most of the teen dreams came from a different generation then mine. I was surprised that this show was good.

It was really fun to watch be surprised with her very own teen crush!!! Thanks to the show producers they pulled off their second Oprah surprise of this season. Oprah confesses in the video that she wanted to marry Jackie Jackson. Yep, he is from the Jackson Five. Mr. Jackson was very polite and I think if he wasn’t wifed up he would have ask Lady O out. Sorry Steadman…

Next, singer and actor Shaun Cassidy put grins on all the ladies. Shaun works behind the scenes these days as a writer and producer. After chatting it up for a few minutes, he takes the stage and sing one of his old songs.

The ultimate boy band group turns up the heat by reuniting on the show. The Backstreet Boys surprise to crazed fans at O’hare airport. Guess what ladies these harmonizing heart-throbs are going on tour again! But the group says is still saying Bye Bye Bye to Kevin. Check out the info here.

The final singing icon appearing on the show is Peter Frampton. Such a lucky day for Oprah’s executive producer Sheri as the creative staff pulls one over on her. Peter pops out on stage during a production meeting. That’s no ordinary production meeting as he sings Baby I Love Your Way.

    Air Date: November 2, 2010

Ricky Martin is ready to reveal to the world his inner most thoughts about his life and his sexuality. Beside promoting his book on Oprah, the hot latin pop singer talks about being gay and his twin boys. Sadly, for many years Ricky says he felt his emotions were evil. He says he felt as he was not enough. Oprah points out to her viewers that feeling is universal. Everyone feels feel “I’m not good enough.”  Oprah says, “I think if everybody who’s gay would come out, it would change the world!” The audiences applauds as Ricky agrees.

Ricky is parenting his two twin toddlers, and I think a lot of his coming out had to do with them. In his book he writes, “I want to open my heart to them fully and absolutely so that in the future they will never be afraid to do the same.”

Don’t miss Ricky & Joss Stone sing their latest tune  “The Best Thing About Me Is You”

    An Inspiring Camping Trip

First things first, you need to gear up for your camping trip. Discovering REI for the first time, Gayle likes to look at all the options while Oprah just relied on the knowledge of the sales guy. Why do these two besties take a camping trip? According to Yosemite Park Ranger Shelton Johnson, African-Americans make only 1% of the population who visit national parks each year.

Here are a couple of places Oprah and Gayle visited the first day of their trip:

    The Grizzly Giant

    Tunnel View

The Camping Happy Hour (Oprah makes Moscow Mules)

    • 1 Ounce Vodka
    • 1/2 Cup Ginger Beer
    • 1 tsp. Simple Syrup
    • 1 Sprig Fresh Mint
    • Fresh Lime Juice

Oprah surprises a couple she met in Yosemite by giving away the Chevey Hybrid Tahoe and her Coleman Camper.

I can remember visiting Yosemite as a young girl with family and our family friends. What a fun time, I agree with Oprah that everyone should see and experience the beauty of Yosemite 🙂

Get caught up on Part 2 of the trip here.

    Air Date: October 26, 2010

Jessica Seinfield is on the show to promote her new book Double Delicious.

Their kids were all under 6 years old.

What a blessing the couple gave birth to triples nearly one year after the accident. Get this they have 2 girls and 1 boy again! The couple also honors their first 3 children by giving each of their new triplets a middle name from a sibling that has past.

    Surviving The Virgina Tech Shooting

The final segments include an interview with a young adult who survived the Virgina Tech Shootings. Colin Goddard was shot four times. Diane Downs

Diane Downs in the early 80’s shoots her 3 children. She gets life plus 50 years, 2 of the children are alive today. Her youngest daughter (4th child) Becky Babcock talks about her convicted murder mother. “She’s not a mother. She is a monster.” She says, she regrets writing to her biological mother. Becky wanted to relate to someone after she gave one of her children up for adoption. Becky thought connecting with Diane would help her heal from the pain. She now knows her adopted family is all she needs. Diane would not share the name of Becky’s biological father after Becky asked her in letters.

    Pamela Smart

Lisa Ling interviews Pamela Smart in New York at Bedford Hills Correctional Facility. Her 15 year old then lover Billy Flin kills her husband Greg Smart. She tells Lisa that she did nothing and was not in any way involved in the killing. She is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Lisa asks what would you say to Billy? Pamela says, “Tell the truth. Tell the truth. But I know he doesn’t care. He’s going home. It’s like he killed somebody and got a way with one way or another.” Lisa ask what about Greg? “I’m sorry.”

Pamela’s mother Linda Wojas sits with Oprah. The jury was not sequester during her daughters trial and says there were 1200 news articles out. She believes her daughter did not get a fair trial. During Pamela’s time in prison she has earned 2 master degrees and helps others. Dr. Eleanor Pam is Pamela Smart’s mentor says she believes absolutely she is innocent. “I think she was punished for sin not the crime.”

One of the jury members Alec Beckett talks to Oprah over WebEx on the show. Alex says, he was out of the country before the trial and did not know about anything from the media. He says the jury did not know the sentence was life.

Dean Smart (Greg’s brother) sent a statement to the Oprah show saying they believe she is guilty and the boys found guilty along with Billy. Pam did not cut a deal and that is why she is serving life.

    Air Date: October 21, 2010

Oprah lands an exclusive interview with Lisa Marie Presley. They talk in England without a studio audience about Michael Jackson and her famous father Elvis.

Oprah asks the questions we all wanted to know.

    • The marriage union between Lisa and Michael was true love not a PR stunt.
    • Lisa says she never saw Michael abuse any children in her presence.
    • Lisa is trying to make sense of why she had to go through her fathers death and Michael’s. She wonders what is the higher power trying to teach her. It was painful the first time and then she says she had to go through it again.
    • Lisa says, Michael want to have kids with her but she was cautious.
    • She explains during the relationship with Michael she experienced her highest highs and lowest lows.
    • She also shares at the end of their marriage she felt Michael was taking drugs.

    Lisa and Michael

An amazing hour with the talented Tyler Perry. It’s like no other hour of reality television because Tyler shares the most intimate details of his abuse. What a gift this show is for those who have been sexually abused. It really shocked me what comes out of his mouth. Bless Tyler.

After his mother’s death Tyler Perry is talking about his tormented childhood, and the sexual abuse he had to endure.

The physical abuse came from his father. “It’s hard for me to look at those pictures. I feel like I died as a child.” His aunt Jerry talks about pointing a gun at his father after his father beat him with a vacuum cord. Tyler would escape in his mind to a park. At one point Tyler says, he was suicidal (he slit his wrists.)

Today he is 41 years old, talking about a male neighbor molesting him. There was a man he describes in his past he knew from church. This man from church was his first sexual experience (he performed oral sex on Tyler as a boy.) Another incident happens at age 10. This time it is a female neighbor. “This is so disgusting what these people did to this little boy.”

“My mother was not strong like my aunt.” Tyler talks about loving his mother.

What helped him along the way was he learned “What you feed will grow in your life. And what you don’t will starve.”

Oprah tells the audience that his father is still alive. Tyler provides for his father today by sending him monthly checks, and he pays for his father’s housing. Tyler says, I don’t care what he thinks about this show.

On November 5th, Oprah and Tyler will have a much need discussion with a mostly male studio audience. Together they will help others confront their own truth of sexual abuse.

    Air Date: October 19, 2010

Singer Susan Boyle won her audience from appearing on Britian‘s Got Talent. Although she did not win during her season, this runner-up did make her life long dream of becoming a singer a reality.

10-year-old opera phenom Jackie Evancho is also proving 2nd is the BEST! As Jackie was also runner-up in her season of America’s Got Talent.

1970s songstress Debby Boone also appears on the show. Oprah stated on the show, “Debbie still holds the record for most weeks at number one by a first-time primary female artist.”  The song is You Light Up My Life.
